Dear Brothers and Sisters
A very Happy New Year to you all and as we say ‘further up North’ ‘lang may yer lumb reek!’
None of us knows what this year will bring our way. But we do know this; that God loves each of us and that we are in his care. To be honest, that is more than good enough for me.
This year will bring what it brings all we can do is trust in God and do our best. So keep looking out for each other; wearing masks where we should, washing our hands regularly, taking lateral flow tests before coming to church or other large events (if we can get them!) and being aware of the needs of others.
The Funeral of Mr Stephen Smith will take place at St. Oswald’s Leathley at 2pm on Monday 17th January. The Funeral of Mr Frank Wade will take place at St Michael and St. Lawrence’s Fewston on Wednesday 19th January at 12 noon.
Charlotte finally had her operation; third time lucky, on New Year’s Eve. She has been on bed rest since coming home but is improving each day. Thanks once again for all your prayers and good wishes.
Please remember in your prayers: All working or volunteering in the NHS, especially those who are feeling overwhelmed. The homeless and those who cannot feed their families. Our friends and neighbours and all who live in this Benefice. For all those coming towards the end of their lives and those coming to terms with difficult diagnoses. The sick, and the dying, and those who care for them. For the families and friends of Stephen Smith, Frank Wade and Cheryl McDonald and for all those who mourn the loss of someone they love.
God bless you all.
Stephen
